Quality time

After finishing 1 & 2 Chronicles I jumped over to the New Testament and have been reading out of the book of Mark. Instead of reading X number of chapters I've been reading for quality. All that means is that I've been reading a parable, a story, or small section and meditating on it. Often I read the same passage several times over to make sure I really give it a chance to speak to me. I remember reading how being sensitive to what God is saying to us in scripture could lead us to spending an entire month on one passage. Now, I've never spent an entire month on a passage but it struck me that I don't have to breeze through the bible as if there's going to be a test I have to pass at the end of the week.

Anyway, today I read how Jesus healed everyone who came in contact with him. He couldn't go anywhere without mobs of people following him. The verse that particularly struck me was at the end of Mark 6 how people did everything they could to bring the sick to Jesus. They even picked up the sick people and carried them on their mats to him. The last verse of chapter 6 says "They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed." That's awesome. All who touched his cloak was healed. EVERYONE!

... I'm going to Target to buy a cloak.
